02 Can two people move a piano?+
An upright piano weighs 300 to 500 pounds and a grand can pass 1,200. It is not a question of strength but of balance, protecting the legs and the action, and controlling the weight on stairs. Our crews use piano boards, dollies and straps designed for the job, and the size of the crew is set by the piano, not by what is convenient.
03 Do you move grand pianos and baby grands?+
Yes. Grands are moved the way they should be: the lyre and legs come off, the body goes onto a padded piano board on its side, and everything is wrapped and strapped before it leaves the room. Reassembly at the destination is part of the service.
04 Will my piano need to be tuned after the move?+
Almost always, and that is normal — a piano reacts to the change in humidity and position, not to the transport itself. We recommend waiting two to four weeks after the move so the instrument settles into the new room before you call your tuner.
05 Do you move pianos up and down stairs?+

06 Is my piano insured while you move it?+
Every move includes standard liability at $0.60 per pound. For an instrument, that is rarely enough — most piano clients add our VIP Protection Plan, which covers up to $10,000. Your coordinator will walk you through it before the date is booked.
